The Wardrobe Reset Begins
After two years of motherhood, change, and growth, it's time my closet reflected who I am now (and who I'm becoming).
I started my career as a Fashion Designer for Tommy Hilfiger, before transitioning into Interior Design & Content Creation. But you’d never know it looking at my closet. Somewhere between pregnancy, postpartum, career changes, and home projects, I stopped recognizing my own style.
Since having my son two years ago, I’ve mostly lived in activewear. And while I do love it, it’s become my default and not a true reflection of my personal style. I haven’t made the time or had the energy to figure out what actually feels like me anymore.
I’ve spent the last two years working hard to feel good in both my body and mind post pregnancy. Postpartum is no joke. But today, I feel stronger, healthier, and more like myself than I did even before becoming a mom. And I’m proud of that. But my wardrobe hasn’t caught up.
So I’m starting over - not with a massive haul or fast trends, but with thoughtful, intentional choices that reflect who I am now and who I’m becoming. I’m calling it The Wardrobe Reset - a personal design project to rebuild my closet from the ground up. One piece at a time.
Each week I’ll be sharing updates here and on Instagram - what I’m trying, what I’m loving, and why I’m adding certain pieces to my wardrobe. This isn’t about fast fashion or overconsumption. I’m approaching it with a less-is-more mindset - focused on quality, longevity, and creating a wardrobe that truly feels like me.
To start things off, I thought I’d share a few favorite pieces I’m eyeing this week. These items reflect the style I’m slowly rebuilding around: timeless, classic and elevated. Here’s a little visual of the vibe I’m going for…
A Few Favorite Finds
Linen Dress | Reformation
I love pieces that can be dressed up or down. And this dress is one of those pieces.
The Travel Set | Spanx
A good travel set is essential in my opinion for every wardrobe. I recently invested in a travel set from Spanx. I did these bottoms with this top in black.
White Denim Shorts | Agolde
I need some good white denim shorts. I’m deciding between these here and these ones. I’ll order both and report back on which one I keep.
Denim Button Down | Polo Ralph Lauren
A quality denim button down is a staple for any wardrobe. And this Polo Ralph Lauren one is a classic that will never go out of style.
Less is More Hat | Merit
I’m a sucker for a good baseball hat. And I had to grab this one the second I saw it because Less is More is a philosophy I live by. Especially when it comes to my wardrobe.
Onesie Activewear | Four Three Seven
Okay, okay. I know The Wardrobe Reset is all about getting me out of my activewear, but I couldn’t help myself when I saw this brown onesie. It’s so good! I also bought it in this color.
Let’s Build Together
If your style has shifted - or disappeared - since becoming a mom or entering a new season of life, I hope this series helps you feel seen. And maybe even inspired to reset a little too.
Thanks for being here,
Taylor
